Plumbing Disaster in Pymble
Sonya walked to a group of people and offered them a tray of appetisers. “Chicken skewers,” she announced to the cluster of young people. It was her daughter’s 17th birthday party and she asked her how she would like to celebrate. Her daughter, Madison, requested a BBQ so she decided to give her that as part of her present. There were more than twenty of her friends in attendance and Sonya could see that Madison was enjoying herself immensely.
“Thank you so much for this Mum,” Madison said excitedly as she hugged her. Sonya was pleased that her daughter appreciated the effort that went into making the party happen.
Sonya returned inside to retrieve more food when she saw her husband wearing a worried look on his face. “What the matter,” she questioned. Peter informed her that there seemed to be something wrong with the bath because it appeared to be filling up with water every time the toilet was flushed. “What?” Sonya said with horror. She rushed to the bathroom to see for herself. The bath was filled with dirty looking water and the sight of it immediately made her feel ill. “That’s no good at all,” she said with concern. The bath will overflow soon from the amount of times the toilet will be flushed tonight, she thought. “We’ll have to call in an emergency plumber for this,” she said to Peter. Peter agreed and stated that he knew the number of a plumbing company that had a good reputation in Pymble. He was pleased with himself that he had retained the number.
Sonya copied down the number and dialled. She earnestly hoped that someone would be there to take her call. The phone was answered almost instantly and she informed the representative of her emergency plumbing situation. She then discovered that a professional plumber would be sent out immediately to their Pymble property.
While she waited, Sonya continued to serve food to the guests. However, after ten minutes Peter let her know that the emergency plumber had arrived. She was astonished at how quickly he was able to get there. She showed him the blocked up bath and allowed him to investigate.
Only twenty minutes later, the emergency plumber announced that the issue had been resolved. He explained that the problem was due to a blockage, from a foreign object being flushed down the toilet.
Thanks to the swift services, of the plumber, the emergency plumbing problem was able to be eliminated with no disruption to the party. Madison was shocked when she learned what had happened during her event. “I didn’t even realize!” she said, amazed. Sonya and Peter often found themselves raving about the plumbing company to their friends and family because of that night.
