Trenchless pipe laying has been invented by experts because of that reason and must address the concerns of the environment even when transporting the water in an outstanding hygienic condition. However, trenchless pipe laying does not come in a single method alone but includes many processes.
Laying pipes is not as easy as you think especially when it is to be performed in very inconvenient places such as the public roads which would really cause slowing down of the pedestrian traffic, rerouting of vehicles and disturbance to the local community. - Micro tunneling
Micro tunnelling is a trenchless pipe laying method which installs pipes beneath highways, pedestrians, runways and especially environmentally sensitive area. This process includes the contractor creating a pilot hole for the pipe to pass with the use of a drilling machine guided from the exterior of the area. This process reduces the reduction of excavation processes which could cause more inconvenience to the public and to the contractors themselves. This will then be followed by the pipe assembly and pulling the pipes for laying.
- Pipe Bursting
Pipe bursting method is a trenchless pipe laying method that does not include heavy excavation processes as well. This is also applicable in busy areas that require pipe laying such as roads, driveways and pavements. These areas will be damaged if you excavate the area just to lay the pipe.
However, this method is applicable to plumbing systems with an old damaged pipe which needs to be replaced. The old pipe will be destroyed and replaced with a new one with the use of a bursting head. The bursting head will destroy the old pipe by breaking it into smaller pieces and the bursting cone will serve as a pulling head that pulls the new pipe in place to replace the old pipe. Many people might be thinking what good it can bring to intentionally break a pipe but an advantage is quite noticeable though the broken pieces of the old pipe which lay in the pipe bedding can cause damage to the new pipe.
- Pulling through a casing
Pipe laying by pulling through a casing consists of laying a pipe and introducing a pipeline to transport any form of fluid, be it potable, waste water, storm water or dry networks. Because of the significant pulling forces involved in this process, ductile iron pipes are suitable for the process because of the ability of its joints to withstand these forces while simultaneously retaining its flexibility because of the elastomer gaskets. This trenchless pipe laying process is basically suitable for rehabilitation purposes and trenchless works.
